Jeff Vold,
Director, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army, National Guard Markets

(February, 2008) - As Director of the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army, and National Guard Markets for Shield Technologies Corporation (Shield), Jeff Vold supervises the sales and customer support of high-tech Envelop® Protective Covers (Envelop) to U.S. military ground forces. In that role, he helps improve the quality of life and readiness of Marines and soldiers by reducing the enormous amount of time they spend on repetitive maintenance activities, such as corrosion prevention and removal on weapons and equipment exposed to harsh environmental elements.

Jeff has led the successful efforts of Envelop® covers to provide protection for all U.S. Marine Corps artillery, as well as several U.S. Army ground weapons systems, including HIMARS Launchers, Howitzers, and remote weapon systems - including those being used in Iraq and Afghanistan. He joined Shield Technologies in 2005 after a lengthy career in the healthcare IT industry.

Jeff is a former U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Artillery Officer who commanded artillery units from the platoon to battalion level. He deployed numerous times as a member of Marine Expeditionary Units (MEU - SOC) and led his battery in a provisional rifle company role in Somalia during Operation Restore Hope. Recently he served with the 1st Marine Division in Iraq (Aug 2004 - April 2005) and was called to active duty again in 2006 to serve as the Director of the Advisor Training Group for the First Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton, Calif. In that capacity he was responsible for preparing more than 400 Marines to serve as advisors to the Iraqi Army and Police Forces.

He is based in Minnesota and works out of the Shield Technologies office in Eagan, Minn. Contact him at 651-289-3067, ext. 103 or jeff.vold@envelopcovers.com

About ENVELOP® Protective Covers
Envelop Protective Covers are the next generation of environmental and operational covers, replacing ineffective vinyl tarps and corrosion-inhibiting chemicals that contaminate the environment. Envelop covers were originally developed to protect military weapons and other assets from water, salt, humidity, sand and other sources of environmental degradation. Validated in the Navy's ocean-going environment, Envelop covers have proven to dramatically reduce maintenance time for military assets, and they are the only soft covers approved by the U.S. Navy for topside weapons and equipment. More than 14,000 Envelop covers are now used by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, and allied navies. They are also available for consumer and industrial applications such as oil and gas machinery, commercial shipping, amusement parks, airplanes, gun cases and cruise ships. Shield Technologies Corporation is headquartered in Chicago, Ill., with operations in the Twin Cities suburb of Eagan, Minn.
