Phil Simoes, Director of Customer Service
U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army, National Guard Markets

(February, 2008) - As Director of Customer Service for domestic ground forces markets (U.S. Marine Corps,
U.S. Army, and National Guard) for Shield Technologies Corporation (Shield), Phil Simoes oversees the implementation and training of Marines and soldiers using high-tech Envelop® Protective Covers (Envelop) to protect military weapons and other equipment.

In his role, Phil helps improve the quality of life and readiness of Marines and soldiers by reducing the enormous amount of time they spend on repetitive maintenance activities, such as corrosion prevention and removal on weapons and equipment exposed to harsh environmental elements.

Phil recently retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a master gunnery sergeant. At the time of his retirement, he was the senior enlisted artilleryman in the U.S. Marine Corps. Phil was the field artillery chief for the 11th Marine Regiment, and prior to that served as battery gunnery sergeant for numerous firing batteries deployed as part of Marine Expeditionary Units (MEU). He also served at Marine Barracks 8th and I in Washington DC, where he was responsible for developing artillery training and standards for the Marine Corps Institute.

Other tours in his superb career include service as a drill instructor, senior drill instructor, and command of the Marine Corps American Embassy Detachment in Alexandria, Egypt.

He is based in southern California and can be reached at 760-521-4846 or phil.simoes@envelopcovers.com

About ENVELOP® Protective Covers
Envelop Protective Covers are the next generation of environmental and operational covers, replacing ineffective vinyl tarps and corrosion-inhibiting chemicals that contaminate the environment. Envelop covers were originally developed to protect military weapons and other assets from water, salt, humidity, sand and other sources of environmental degradation. Validated in the Navy's ocean-going environment, Envelop covers have proven to dramatically reduce maintenance time for military assets, and they are the only soft covers approved by the U.S. Navy for topside weapons and equipment. More than 14,000 Envelop covers are now used by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, and allied navies. They are also available for consumer and industrial applications such as oil and gas machinery, commercial shipping, amusement parks, airplanes, gun cases and cruise ships. Shield Technologies Corporation is headquartered in Chicago, Ill., with operations in the Twin Cities suburb of Eagan, Minn.
