PRODUCT UPGRADE ANNOUNCEMENT

DDG Class Sliding Padeye (Kingpost) Cover Upgrade

DDG Class Sliding Padeye (Kingpost) Cover Upgrade Shield Technologies announces that their
DDG Class Sliding Padeye (Kingpost) Cover,
Part Number 112057 has been removed from production and replaced by an improved cover design. This cover is for the permanent style
Type T-12 Sliding Padeyes found on board DDG 58 and newer and retrofitted early Flight I DDGs.
The new DDG Class Sliding Padeye Covers are specifically designed for either the port side or the starboard side Sliding Padeyes and are not interchangeable. The new covers are now a one piece design which eliminates the need for hoisting bars and lines and the detachable cap cover.

The new Part Numbers and
National Stock Numbers
for the improved Sliding Padeye covers are:

Starboard Side:
P/N: 112058  •  NSN: 2090-01-587-1669

Port Side:
P/N: 112060  •  NSN: 2090-01-587-1672

The Allowance Equipage List for the DDG Class (2-1800200000) has been updated to remove the old style cover and add the two new designs.

About ENVELOP® Protective Covers
Envelop Protective Covers are the next generation of environmental and operational covers, replacing ineffective vinyl tarps and corrosion-inhibiting chemicals that contaminate the environment. Envelop covers were originally developed to protect military weapons and other assets from water, salt, humidity, sand and other sources of environmental degradation. Validated in the Navy's ocean-going environment, Envelop covers have proven to dramatically reduce maintenance time for military assets, and they are the only soft covers approved by the U.S. Navy for topside weapons and equipment. More than 14,000 Envelop covers are now used by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, and allied navies. They are also available for consumer and industrial applications such as oil and gas machinery, commercial shipping, amusement parks, airplanes, gun cases and cruise ships. Shield Technologies Corporation is headquartered in Chicago, Ill., with operations in the Twin Cities suburb of Eagan, Minn.
